Adam Nidzgorski est issu d’une famille d’origine polonaise. Il e son enfance et son adolescence en , puis en 1951,  part pour Varsovie grâce à une bourse d’études. Il y reste jusqu’en 1956. L’art n’étant pas encore rentré dans sa vie, c’est par le sport qu’il s’exprime : il contribue notamment à introduire le judo en Pologne. Après un bref retour en , il s’installe en Tunisie, où il exerce pendant dix ans en tant que professeur d’éducation physique à l’École d’éducation physique de Tunis.

Adam Nidzgorski commence à dessiner à l’âge de trente ans. Véritable autodidacte, il ne reçoit aucune formation artistique. Les débuts sont difficiles : ses œuvres sont jugées comme maladroites, enfantines. Ses personnages sans oreille, sans perspective, étonnent et dérangent. Il expose pour la première fois en 1967, en Tunisie. De retour à Paris, en 1970, il ret Concordances, groupe d’artistes qui réfléchit à la place de l’art dans la société

Adam Nidzgorski ne travaille qu’un seul thème : la figure humaine. Ses personnages ont de grands yeux, au regard interrogatif, sur lesquels l’attention se fixe forcément en premier lieu. Ces yeux trahissent selon les oeuvres joie, tendresse, parfois angoisse. Les traits simplifiés au possible et les couleurs très vives appellent un univers d’enfant. Les personnages bienveillants aux mouvements raidis s’enlacent les uns les autres sans cesser de dévisager le spectateur ; on trouve bien souvent une mère embrassant son enfant, rappelant les figures des icônes religieuses que Nidzgorski a côtoyées durant son enfance.

Il a exposé dans plusieurs musées français (Laval, Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Montpellier, Marseille...). Il a exposé dans différentes villes de (Paris,Marseille, Bage, Narbonne, Paul, Laval, Rouen, Lorient, Quimper, Rennes, Strasbourg, Lyon...)

Plusieurs expositions réalisées à Tunis, Varsovie, Amsterdam, Berlin, Londres, New York, Québec ....
