Andrei Svistunov is a contemporary artist born in St. Petersburg, Russia, who currently lives and works in Berlin, . Trained as an architect, Svistunov brings a deep understanding of architectural forms and classical principles to his artistic practice. His graphic works are known for their metaphorical depth, diversity, and precise mastery of materials.

Svistunov's art is deeply rooted in the classical orders of architecture and academic traditions but transcends the boundaries of his profession. His works often draw on themes from antiquity and revival, reflecting a world where Renaissance theater scenery, phantasmagoric masks from San Marco, and biblical imagery intermingle.

A significant influence on Svistunov's work was Mikhail Filippov, a renowned watercolorist and architect, who provided him with invaluable lessons in watercolor technique. Svistunov considers Filippov both a mentor and an inspiration.

During his studies at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Svistunov participated in a summer session at the School of Prince Charles. After completing his studies, he worked in Filippov's architectural workshop before embarking on an independent artistic career.

Over the past two decades, Svistunov has maintained his dual roles as an architect and artist, with his art serving as a reflection of his inner thoughts and contemplations about what could be. His work captures the fleeting essence of forms and architectural perspectives, revealing a world of both tangible and intangible elements.
