He is a painter who spends his entire life. After retiring from 37 years of parliamentary service as an assistant principal officer, he is engaged in painting full-time, using many mediums such as oil paint, acrylic, watercolor and pencil drawings. However, he prefers to work in oil paintings, and besides, he has paintings of old Sri Lankan places of interest. He has been drawing for children's storybooks for some time. He has participated Room to Read Sri Lanka’s Creative Writers' and Illustrators' Workshop in 2015.
