Il ne parla jamais a qui que ce soit sur sa vie si tumultueuse et si pénible jusqu’au moment que sa marraine l’accueille chez elle. Il garda se secret pendant toutes ses longues années dans son cœur, même a la famille de sa femme qu’il respectait, pour lui elle représentait tout d’une famille heureuse et honnête.
