Daniel Pultorak is a renowned contemporary German artist born in 1975. Self-taught, he developed his unique style which combines various influences and media such as collages, drawings, photography, pop art and cubism. He initially pursued a career as a merchant and decorator before devoting himself fully to art. Pultorak was a member of Art Sölde, an artist group that turned away from abstract art.
His works include figurative and abstract portraits, interiors and still lifes characterised by distorted shapes and bright colours. He often addresses the world of consumerism and its relationship to art and society, using the imagery of popular culture, including celebrities and brand logos as well as his own experiences. Pultorak's work shows the influence of artists such as Andy Warhol, Daniel Richter, Peter Doig, Francis Bacon and Jean Dubuffet.
An extremely prolific artist, Pultorak works from his studio in Dortmund, where he continues to create fascinating works that are appreciated by a diverse collector base around the world.
