About the author 2f5v2t
I like to draw from life. It is a challenge of execution that adds a whole other dimension to the drawing, because there is no intermediary between the object and its execution on paper. The small repeated strokes add both movement and texture to the surface. They allow for modulation of tones. This work is meditative because each stroke is a bit like the slow movement of breathing that brings me attentively back to the present moment.
I like to work using models, whether a human being or an object that particularly appeals
to me. It adds a special dimension to the creative process since my perception of these visual
elements are directly translated into the drawing I happen to work on. Textures are created by the juxtaposition of small strokes, which further add movement as well as modulations to the overall surface. It is indeed a meditative process which clearly makes me focus - without any distraction whatsoever - on the here and now.
