Kostyantin Malginov, an artist with a diverse background, has explored a range of techniques from watercolor to sculpture, yet it is the intricate structure of silk that has always captivated him the most...

What inspired you to create art and become an artist? (events, feelings, experiences...)

The inner need for self-expression.

What is your artistic background, the techniques and subjects you have experimented with so far?

From watercolor to sculpture, I have tried all the poems, but only silk always fascinates with its structure.

What are the 3 aspects that differentiate you from other artists, making your work unique?

I try not to repeat myself, only the search for new forms gives growth to the artist.

Where does your inspiration come from?

At the moment I am in a creative search for a special style. This is the inspiration.

What is your artistic approach? What visions, sensations or feelings do you want to evoke in the viewer?

To convey maximum naturalness through the silk structure.

What is the process of creating your works? Spontaneous or with a long preparatory process (technical, inspiration from art classics or other)?

From idea to implementation, a long stage takes place, on average 50 days.

Do you use a particular work technique? if so, can you explain it?

A unique technique from silk painting to stitching and turning into a tapestry.

Are there any innovative aspects in your work? Can you tell us which ones?

The uniqueness of the project in the technological process of hand-made transfer of the sketch to silk and fixing it on canvas.

Do you have a format or medium that you are most comfortable with? if yes, why ?

145-82 favorite size.

Where do you produce your works? At home, in a shared workshop or in your own workshop? And in this space, how do you organize your creative work?

At home, one of the rooms serves as a workshop.

How do you imagine the evolution of your work and your career as an artist in the future?

I am sure that I will find connoisseurs.

What is the theme, style or technique of your latest artistic production?

At the moment, this is the aesthetics of the body.

If you could have created a famous work in the history of art, which one would you choose? And why ?

Portrait of Marc Chagall made of silk.
