The painting is structured around a central vertical age—a layered opening through which internal and external realities converge.
At the base, three silhouetted figures gaze into a landscape: sea, cliffs, distant hills. Yet their gaze is filtered through interwoven bands of abstract texture, color, and organic form—symbolic of the layered nature of perception itself.
To the right, a face embedded in a tree trunk commands quiet attention. It is not a person, but rather a vessel of awareness, simultaneously perceiving and dissolving into its surroundings. The image suggests that what we call “reality” is always seen through the filters of memory, psyche, emotion, and symbolic structure.
Here, the artist articulates the idea that the boundary between inner and outer worlds is constructed, not fixed. This work invites viewers to consider the possibility that our perception of the external is always, in part, a projection of the internal.
