Julia Gurova

Born in 1977. In 2000, I graduated from the Costume Design department at the Institute of Design and Advertising.

From the first year of the institute, I took an active part in exhibitions, open calls of young designers, fashion shows. After graduation, I participated in Russian and international exhibitions and fashion shows. Since 2002, a member of the Union of Artists.

Since 2003 I have been engaged in packaging design and at the moment I Head of Design. But the illustration wouldn't let go, and I tried to use the illustration in the design. When the opportunity arose, I drew for myself. For me, it's a way to express my thoughts and feelings and get in touch with the world.

When I draw with living materials, it gives a tremendous boost of energy. For me, it's magic when you mix paint and put it on canvas or paper. I always choose music to suit my mood, and music often sets its own rhythm, brings additional meanings. Quite often I look for inspiration in the theater or visit museums and exhibitions.

In the past I organized fashion shows, today it is a new way and a new experience for me to exhibit paintings and illustrations.
