Triptych of a Jungle (2023) Painting by Michel Testard
On the left two young Indian ladies prepare a prayer (puja) and make a rangoli decoration under a mango tree. In the centre , the panther Bagheera jumps into a stream cascade. On the right , an old yogi or guru meditates under a banyan tree.
Everyone in the scene, trees, plants, animals, humans share the same sense of harmony and peace.A sort of Jungle bliss In colours.
I hope to please and amuse the viewer. It is a large decorative piece which can fit well on a proper white wall.

Michel Testard, born in Tokyo (Japan) into a French artistic family, has been living in rich travel and cultural immersion in Europe, Africa and India. His art vividly captures a large range of themes from realistic landscapes, urban or rural scenes, portraits and interiors. Michel also ventures into fantasy with his dreamlike "room with a view" series from Goa, Kipling inspired jungles, weird and funny yogis, Indian musicians or cartoons of maharajas. His work, influenced by Masters like Matisse, Gauguin and Amrita Sher-Gill, is full of imagination, vibrant colors and spontaneity. Michel’s originality lies in his blend of East and West, reality and fantasy, past and present, creating a body of work that reflects his dedication to cultural exploration and the beauty of seeing the world through a wandering, reflective lens.
