In the deep Indian jungle imagined by Kipling and Loti, we bump into a fantasy scene. Down in the centre, a nymph rides a tricolored horse in a blue stream, she waves at another nymph perched above in a black tree. On the main bank of the river, one can see a couple of wild animals under a big banyan tree - a black panther, a blue bear, some birds and snakes, whilst other nymphs take part in the picture. The whole atmosphere is sheer fantasy in shining colours, inspired by some of my travels in the real Indian jungle. This painting, part of my Indian jungle series is done in my own spontaneous style, in oil this time. Although one can see some influence of my favorite masters, here Gauguin and le Douanier Rousseau.
