Having always shown an interest in the arts since a very young age, Nathalie Tanguay had drawing as her favorite activity and she has now been painting for 30 years. In order to perfect her art, she has followed numerous training courses and workshops on painting and drawing techniques, studies of live models and portraits. Nathalie has also dabbled in sculpture and screen printing on fabrics. With a bachelor's degree in art history, this course has greatly influenced her work, whether by studying the work of other artists or by adding subjects to her repertoire. Constantly evolving, the artist intends to continue her training in order to fuel her creation.
Specially fond of oil painting, Nathalie Tanguay develops her work on colors while paying attention to details. Having as a central point the theme of memory, his work mainly focuses on historical, literary and iconic subjects. She can invent her own compositions and rely on models if necessary, or sometimes take inspiration from photos to make them her own by incorporating characters in order to bring other atmospheres. Comprising a wide variety of subjects, his work particularly includes characters and architectural groups. Although she ensures that proportions and perspectives are generally respected, Nathalie does not seek realistic renderings. She has her own style and does not belong to any school. This is why we tend to describe her art as naive, which remains to be determined.
