Red poppies are fascinating: on the one hand, their red coloring makes them strong and brave, and on the other hand, their special design makes them easily recognizable, as beautiful as they are delicate and vulnerable. The complexity of the poppy is also reflected in its meaning in different cultures: it ranges from romantic love and ion to sleep and transience, memory and comfort or peace and reconstruction.

For this floral painting with its life-affirming character, I naturally mixed red tones on my palette, as well as (grass) green, (sky) blue, yellow, magenta, orange, white and brown colors. The view is directed beyond the poppy field into the distance, under a beautiful cloudy sky, a row of trees lies on the horizon.
