The Abstract Colour-field series by artist Petr Johan Marek is a collection of paintings that explore the use of large areas of single, flat colors. The paintings are predominantly square or vertical in shape and are created using heavily diluted oil paints with turpentine on canvas. Inspired by the abstract expressionism movement of the mid-20th century, these paintings bring a postmodern twist to the genre. The main color palette used in this series includes white, green, blue, yellow, and violet colors, resulting in captivating and vibrant compositions.
