Samvel Atasunts, born on July 28, 1959, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is an accomplished Armenian artist celebrated for his portrait work and his mastery in oil painting. He moved to Yerevan, Armenia, in 1967, where he began his artistic journey. At the young age of nine, he started exploring oil painting, demonstrating an early ion for the craft. Between 1975 and 1977, Atasunts participated in the first All-Union Exhibition Festival, earning a diploma of the second degree for his impressive work. His training included studying under the guidance of artist Kotanjyan, refining his skills and artistic style.
In 1979, Atasunts graduated from the College of the Arts and began his professional career.
