I have no art education. I draw and paint whatever comes to mind, usually music-inspired. Self-taught, if you like... Like all children, I already drew as a child, but it really started in 1988. First with colored pencil, later I discovered ink, watercolor, collage... mixed media. However, I learned some drawing and painting techniques from my father Desiré Vermeulen (1935-2022) who was a popular heimat painter in my village Werchter (Flemish Brabant), where I have lived since I was born. Now I have been retired for a while and yes, then I have more time to do my favorite hobby, drawing and painting...
