Zhu Xinming was born in the early 1960s and entered the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute to study painting in the mid-1980s. Under the nourishment of the rigorous academic teaching system and years of artistic practice, he has developed a very solid foundation in basic painting skills and accumulated profound cultural literacy.

In 2007, when he felt a little confused about the traditional forms of painting and gradually lost himself, he began to explore new ways of artistic expression to improve himself. By chance, he encountered leather, a unique artistic medium, and was immediately attracted by its elegance, grandeur and natural characteristics. He devoted himself to it without hesitation and spent several years in it. Whether it was the investment of funds, the consumption of thinking, or the hard work, he paid a lot.

After years of in-depth research and unremitting exploration of leather art, he has fully mastered the various techniques and skills of leather as an artistic medium. Whether it is using leather as a medium for sculpture creation, or for creating relief and micro-carving works, he is able to do it with ease. On the premise of widely absorbing the strengths of many foreign leather art expressions, he also organically integrated the experience gained from his research with Chinese traditional culture, and then created his own unique leather art expression form.
