Mes peintures naissent d’un lent processus où la sculpture précède la toile. Je façonne de petites maisons en bois ou en béton, sans fenêtres ni portes, comme des volumes silencieux. Je les photographie, je les observe, je les dépouille. La lumière y découpe des zones d’ombre, les arêtes se taisent, les surfaces racontent déjà.

Puis vient la peinture. C’est là que le mystère s’épaissit. Je peins ces maisons comme des lieux de age : elles sont là, frontales, presque archétypales, mais toujours traversées par l’ambiguïté. Le clair-obscur que je travaille en couleur plus qu’en noir, accentue cette tension entre apparition et disparition.

Chaque maison est à la fois volume, présence, et abstraction. J’intègre parfois des signes archaïques — mégalithiques ou berbères ; comme autant de murmures gravés dans la matière. Mais jamais au détriment du sujet : la maison reste le cœur, ce seuil intime entre intérieur et extérieur, entre ce que l’on voit et ce que l’on pressent.

Mon travail s’inscrit dans une figuration minimale, nourrie par l’ombre, le silence, et le poids discret des choses simples.

Né en 1967 à Casablanca.

Après des études classiques à Vannes dans le Morbihan, il effectue deux années à l'école d'arts plastiques de Nice.

Rentre aux beaux-arts de Toulon en 1990 ou il obtient son diplôme National d'Arts Plastiques. C 'est dans l’atelier de Serge PLAGNOL, Peintre Toulonnais, qu’il découvre réellement la peinture à l’huile, gestuelle, avec ses grands formats, sorte d’hymne coloré à la vie.

Il poursuit son cursus artistique à l'école d'art de Luminy-Marseille. Il va côtoyer des artistes plasticiens, enseignants tels que Georges Autard, Anne-Marie Pecheur, Piotr Klemensiewicz ou Wladimir Skoda. Il obtient son diplôme de fin d'études (Dnsep), option peinture en 1994. Cette même année, il ret Vannes, ville de son enfance puis Elven, où à ce jour, il vit.
