This sculpture captures a raw and honest human moment – the gesture of offering help. Two figures meet on the path of life: one is climbing up, the other stands just a step higher, reaching out a hand. They don't ask who the other is, or why they fell. They are simply there. That is comion. That is human dignity.
The entire composition is made from recycled materials – a true upcycling work of art. The wooden parts – walnut, peach, ash, and elder – were rescued from firewood. The metal came from a scrapyard, reshaped and renewed. I gave these discarded materials a second life – just as attention and care can bring new light to a forgotten person.
At the heart of this sculpture lies a thought:
“Let us look for the child in every person – the one who once stared up at the Christmas tree with shining eyes.”
We never know when or why a life went off course. That’s why empathy matters – especially today.
This work is more than form – it is a message: Let us care for one another. That is the greatest gift we can give.

Zoltán Nagy - An outsider, upcycling creator.
If you're expecting an artistic biography filled with education, success stories, and exhibitions, you're in the wrong place. There’s no art degree here. No glamorous gallery history. No awards to list. My story is about building something quietly, patiently, and alone – from nothing.
I grew up in a conservative environment where creativity wasn’t considered “real work.” School, society — all of it stood in my way whenever I tried to follow the path of my heart. I was like a child whose sandcastle was constantly being kicked over just because he built it differently.
I felt like a wounded deer, cornered — then blamed for reacting like one. My upbringing and school didn’t build me up — they shattered me. Later, I tried to piece myself back together as best I could.
Until the age of 25, they tried to reshape me into something else, into a form they could accept. When they saw I wouldn't change, they tossed me aside with indifference. They left me alone, writing me off as a fool. And that’s when everything changed: I became free.
A self-healing process began in my life. I started a small business. For the first time, I could do what I loved. I could create — on my . I taught myself every tool and technique, with no teacher, no mentor. I crafted high-quality, detailed decorative objects from good materials — for very little money. My work was worthless in the eyes of those around me. People mocked me for trying to make a living from creativity. It broke me inside.
Then I finally found my life’s purpose.
I had always reused everything I could — not because I wanted to save the planet, but because I had no other choice. And yet, I enjoyed it. Over time, I became committed to upcycling and sustainability, even without financial pressure. My desires stopped growing — they even started shrinking. My focus turned toward nature and simplicity. Upcycling became my direction.
I’ve learned 90% of my skills the hard way — self-taught. Self-education is hard. It’s full of traps and setbacks. Often I caused more damage than progress. But my miserable circumstances forced me to figure things out on my own. I didn’t notice how much useful knowledge I was acquiring — even through my mistakes.
Over the years, I tried once or twice to "enter" the art world. I participated in local amateur competitions, but the judges and professional artists were indifferent and distant. If they think I’m untalented and uninteresting, they’re probably right. After all, they’re the experts.
I never got success or recognition — and I no longer expect it. I’m not part of the gallery world, and I probably never will be.
And now, I no longer regret anything. I enjoy what I do. I’ll keep doing it even if I never earn a single coin from it, even if no one ever says a kind word about it.
Because this is my world. What others call trash, I reimagine and bring to life. And I still hope that maybe, someday, someone will see me the same way.
