Alain Wankwini, born in 1993 in Bamenda, in the North-West region of Cameroon, currently lives and works in Yaoundé. From his childhood, Alain developed a ion for drawing, which he cultivated throughout his studies. After obtaining his baccalaureate at the Cameroon College of Art Science and Technology (CCAST) in Bambili, he continued his studies in visual arts and art history at the University of Yaoundé I, where he obtained a degree in 2018.

In 2020, Alain completed training in screen printing in Yaoundé, thus enriching his technical know-how. His artistic career is marked by his participation in notable exhibitions, such as the Artistic and Cultural Days (JAC) organized by the Artistic and Cultural Promotion Association (APAC) in Ngoumou, as well as group exhibitions in the famous Mozart Quarter. Alain Wankwini is a multi-talented artist, specializing in illustration and digital art. Using materials such as gel pen on paper, watercolor and digital drawing, his style is inspired by pop art, figurative art and illustration. Influenced by masters such as Hayao Miyazaki, Samspratt, Kim Gi Jung, Akira Toriyama and Masashi Kishimoto, Alain creates works that capture the essence of everyday life and urban and rural scenes.

His works draw their inspiration from scenes of everyday life, collections of images from magazines and the internet, which he organizes, restructures and reinterprets according to his own vision. Alain finds visual solutions to express his sensitivity on themes such as peace, work, hunger, play, urban and rural scenes, and cultural activities. Children occupy a central place in his representations, reflecting the love, freedom and naivety that they express. In addition to his work in digital art, Alain Wankwini also excels in drawing on paper, using pencils, watercolors, colored pencils, ink and felt-tip pens. The bright light and minute details of his forms give his work a precise and realistic appearance, both expressive and impressive.
