REINGESÄGT UND ANGEMALT –
VOM BAUMSTAMM ZUR SKULPTUR…..
Zuerst entsteht die Skulptur im Kopf, dann als grobe Skizze auf dem Papier.
Mit verschiedenen Kettensägen werden die Skulpturen meist aus Lindenholz geschnitzt, aber auch in Eiche, Douglasie, Kiefer und Pappel wird reingesägt.
Bewegliche Ohrringe und verschlungene Ringellocken sind dabei eine besondere Herausforderung. Nach dem Sägen wird die Skulptur mit der Flex bearbeitet und abgebrannt. Durch die Bemalung werden sie zur Persönlichkeit – alle Skulpturen haben Namen und dazugehörige Geschichten – diese schreibt ihnen Jochen Maier auf den hölzernen Leib.
Mit UV-Lack versehen, werden die Skulpturen im Freien zu Vogelvergrämobjekten.
