Sound of the Form VI (2023) Sculpture by Angel Atanasov

I was born in 1959 in Varna, Bulgaria. In 1988 i graduated from the Fine Arts University in Sofia and since then i've been making sculptures, derived from different sensations. Over the years I have been very deeply impressed by the world of forms, devoid of narrative and explanation, the strong impact of the sculptural form as a sound, as an inner harmony that radiates spatial and plastic power. Composing based on complex derivative spatial bodies, searching for plasticity as melody and rhythm, defined by the relationship between surface and plane. My most recent work is entirely influenced by complex geometrical shapes, completed with bronze outer shells, but I have used a variety of different techniques to create my sculptures.
