It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.
Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Geboren wurde ich im Deutschland der Nachkriegszeit. Meine Mutter hatte eine künstlerische Ader, sie zeichnete gut und malte Aquarelle. Von ihr habe ich wohl den Impuls bekommen, künstlerische Arbeiten anzufertigen und ernst zu nehmen. Mein Vater war Zeit seines Lebens ein leidenschaftlicher Fotograf, auch wenn er vor allem Privates fotografierte. So habe ich von beiden Elternteilen etwas Wichtiges und für mich Prägendes mit ins Leben bekommen: die Kunst von der Mutter und die Fotografie vom Vater.
Beide Tätigkeiten begleiten mich nun schon seit vielen Jahrzehnten und bereichern mein Leben. Ich wechsle zwischen Malerei, Zeichnung und Fotografie periodisch hin und her. Mal steht das eine im Vordergrund, mal das andere. Die Ausbildungen an der Fachhochschule Design und die an der Kunstakademie Münster haben mir natürlich wichtige Impulse gegeben und haben meinen künstlerischen Blick geschärft. Aktuell sehe ich mich als "Maler mit der Kamera", da ich die Kamera als mein bevorzugtes Werkzeug zum Herstellen von Kompositionen, Gemaltem und Gezeichnetem benutze.
Schon in meiner Jugend habe ich mich für asiatische Spiritualität interessiert und bin in den siebziger Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts damit angefangen Meditation zu üben. Vor allem die japanische Spielart des Buddhismus, Zen, hat mich in seinen Bann gezogen. Im Jahre 1980 bin ich in Paris von dem japanischen Zen-Meister Taizen Deshimaru zum Bodhisattva-Mönch ordiniert worden. Der Einfluss des Zen hat mein Leben, Denken und Empfinden, aber auch meine Kunst stark beeinflusst. Wer geschulte Augen hat, der kann es wahrscheinlich auch sehen.
In den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten habe ich mehrere Bücher über asiatische Religionen geschrieben: "Konfuzius und das alte China", "Shinto und Buddha" oder "Neo-Zen". Eines meiner Bücher befasst sich auch mit Kunst, es heißt "Das Tao der Kunst".
Seit langem schlummerte in mir der Traum, mein Leben noch einmal ganz umzukrempeln und einmal für längere Zeit in Asien zu leben. Im Jahr 2022 habe ich Deutschland verlassen und lebte für zweieinhalb Jahre in den Philippinen. Die völlig neue Umgebung hat mich unendlich bereichert und mir und meiner Kunst ganz neue Impulse gegeben.
Seit Sommer 2024 lebe ich wieder in Deutschland und setze hier meine künstlerischen Aktivitäten fort.
