SHEVCHUK Dmitriy - was born in 1964 in Kiev (Ukraine). Artist and sculptor works in his own workshop in the Kiev region. In 1991 he graduated from the Kiev Art-Industrial School (now Kiev State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts and Design named after M. Boichuk). After studying he was engaged in manufacturing of master-models (sculptures of small forms) for manufacturing firms both in Ukraine and abroad (Italy, USA).

Particular recognition of the author received after the release of the author's series of sculptures - "Satire as the art of life. This is an ironic series of caricatures, which turns the viewer to the philosophy of everyday life and encourages us to look at everyday things through the prism of the author's humor.

The author's work from beginning to end - the author himself makes the figure in wax, applies a layer of clay, then - melt the wax. After that he pours the metal. The last step - the author puts the finishing touches (sanding, soldering) and the figure is ready. The entire process from research to finished figurine takes about 3-4 weeks.

Until today, about 30 stories have been created (edition each of them up to 10 copies). Although the series is small, but the sculptor manages to create quite exclusive, original, funny and beautiful sculptures.

Dmitry Shevchuk, een hedendaagse Oekraïense kunstenaar die bekend staat om zijn beheersing van ironische karikaturen en humoristische sculpturen, ontdekte tijdens zijn jeugd zijn ie voor het modelleren van figuren uit plasticine. Deze vroege fascinatie maakte de weg vrij voor zijn artistieke reis, waardoor hij formeel onderwijs volgde aan de Kiev Art-Industrial School (nu Kiev State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts and Design genoemd naar M. Boichuk), waar hij in 1991 afstudeerde.
Na zijn afstuderen verdiepte Dmitry zich in de productiewereld, gespecialiseerd in het maken van meestermodellen, of kleine sculpturen, voor verschillende bedrijven in Oekraïne en daarbuiten, waaronder Italië en de VS.
In 2010 begon Dmitry aan een nieuwe artistieke onderneming met de start van zijn eigen serie getiteld 'Satire as an Art of Life'. Deze serie bestaat uit bronzen beeldjes, elk tot 20 cm hoog, vervaardigd in het genre van de ironische karikatuur. Elk werk is handgemaakt door de kunstenaar zelf en wordt geproduceerd in een beperkte oplage van maximaal 10 exemplaren. De serie dient als een speelse verkenning van de alledaagse aspecten van het dagelijks leven en nodigt kijkers uit om na te denken over het gewone door Dmitry's unieke lens van humor en satire.
Door zijn grillige creaties biedt Dmitry Shevchuk een frisse kijk op de routines en banaliteiten van het moderne leven, en moedigt hij het publiek aan om amusement en inzicht te vinden in het ogenschijnlijk alledaagse. Zijn werken zorgen voor gelach en contemplatie en transformeren het gewone in buitengewone uitingen van artistieke humor en creativiteit.
