Alexander Montague-Sparey has 20 years of experience as a contemporary art expert, gained at Phillips and Christie's auction houses, where he was Head of Photography in London. As an independent curator, he has served as Artistic Director of major photography fairs in Asia and the West Coast of the United States, under the branch of PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai and San Francisco (in partnership with SFMOMA). He has also served as Artistic Director of the private museum, Fotografiska International.
His work has been exhibited in the United Kingdom, , Switzerland, the United States, and Morocco. He holds an MA in History of Art from the University of Oxford and an MFA from Goldsmiths, London.
