Ruslan Aksenov is a dark fantasy artist. His plots often feature human figures distorted by mutations, a mixture of animals and people, zombies, and erotica.
In my work, I use ink and acrylic paints, mostly on paper.
This style came to me while living in Armenia, where I didn't want to draw pop scenes, but wanted to express everything I felt about other people and show how I saw a society disfigured by hatred. My inner world was greatly turned upside down by military action and restrictions on the ability to sell my paintings. Therefore, my characters and plots are a complete reflection of my inner disfigured world and a piece of something real among the masses of lies and self-deception.
Now my work is not for the walls, it is for those like me, disappointed in the cruel and ugly nature of man, destroying everything he has and losing his human appearance.
