Originally trained as a designer, Mei found himself growing weary of the repetitive nature of his design work and sought a more fulfilling artistic path. Since transitioning from design to sculpture, Mei Yangguang has made significant strides in the art world. In 2020, his piece “Bronze Year Wood Language” was honored with the Taiwan Golden Dot Annual Best Design Award, and in 2019, it also received the China Design Red Star Award.
