I like the texture of mackerels and the way their skin reflects different shades of colours from source of light, the darker side of their skin reflects different colours depending on the dominant colour from source of light around them. Painting onions with pastels is always fun to me because it allows me to play with different shades of purple,red and sienna, the tomatoes allow me to play with red, purple, orange and yellow. Painting the background with ochres gave the painting the contrast it deserves from the subjects.
