"Sometimes I like to sit down for a coffee on the outdoor terrace of the cafe and just watch the people ing by. I notice their appearance, movements, clothes, mutual communication and based on that I think about who they really are, what they are like, what might be happening inside them...
The street is often an important source of the characters' characters, which I then incorporate into my paintings.
I start writing a story with a painting and then I leave it to the viewer to develop this beginning of the story in their own imagination.
This is also the case with this painting - one specific street scene from the summer of 2016..."
