Bow Bridge Central Park Spring 1x5 is a surrealist version of one of my earlier Bow Bridge Central Park Spring images, with 2 sailboats added. The surrealism hopefully occurs due to conflicting senses of scale - the sailboat in the background is a model of a 24 foot sloop, yet it is as big as the sailboat in the foreground, which is an 80 foot ocean going ketch that I originally drew in pen and ink in 1991. And although both boats appear rather tiny compared to the massiveness of the stone bridge in the background, the sloop's mast could never fit under the bridge, and the 80 foot ketch would absolutely dwarf the bridge in real life, and couldn't even really fit in the Central Park Pond.

I am offering this image in 3 ADDITIONAL SIZES -- 30” H x 25.7” W at $2000. // 60” H x 51.5” W at $8000. // and 72” H x 61.7” W at $11,000. - If you want any of these sizes, use the "Make an Offer" option (in the box below the price listing) at the price indicated for the desired size.

THE NUMBER OF PRINTS FOR ALL SIZES COMBINED IS 3 TOTAL; no matter which size prints happen to be purchased first, only 3 prints TOTAL FOR ALL SIZES COMBINED will be made.

Ken Lerner is a ionate photographic artist, born into a family of renowned photographers. He began taking photos at the age of 6, using a camera given to him by his father. But he was not interested in simply reproducing real life moments. His vision was more subjective and he sought to project an internal reality of that moment.

At the beginning of his career, he almost exclusively created images with multiple exposures. This gave a complex structure to the images and represented a subjective view of the world. In the 2010s, after working in financial product sales, he returned to photography producing only single exposure images. Even though they were less structurally complex, they still represented a subjective view of the world, being almost totally abstract. Ken works extensively with reflective surfaces such as water, glass and metal.

A lover of the beauty of nature, Ken Lerner paints and photographs a lot of landscapes and seascapes. He is interested in presenting different possibilities of representing "nature" and often produces many variations of an image with different colors, shades, contrasts and saturations.
