In addition to his role at the university, Mahesh also contributes to the nurturing of folk art at 'Janakala Kendra,' a dedicated center for folk art in Sri Lanka, where he serves as a visiting lecturer.

His works have graced numerous exhibitions, showcasing his creative prowess to audiences both locally and globally.
