Olympia Letsiou is a contemporary Greek sculptor born in Grevena, raised in Veria, and currently residing in Thessaloniki. She began her sculpting journey in 2006 as a means to explore and communicate the stimuli of the world around her. Drawing inspiration from images, photographs, impressions, music, and daily life, her art seeks to express the spectrum of human emotions and experiences—fears, anxieties, joys, obsessions, and interactions with others. For Olympia, sculpting is not just a creative process but a profound dialogue with clay, a journey of introspection and discovery where the destination remains both clear and ambiguous.
Her artistic practice is shaped by extensive training in pottery, ceramics, and sculpture, along with her studies in Art History at the Vafopouleio Cultural Center and a specialized course titled Arts, Literature, and Architecture in Contemporary Greece (1840-1940) at the Macedonian Museum of Modern Art. Since November 2012, Olympia has been an active member of the Northern Greece Visual Artists Association (SKETVE).
In May 2011, she was awarded first prize in sculpture at the inaugural pan-Hellenic art contest organized by SKETVE, titled Parallel Roads. This recognition affirmed her commitment to exploring and conveying complex ideas and emotions through her work. Olympia views her creative process as a journey filled with revelations and new paths, where her art becomes a companion in the endless quest for understanding and expression.
