Recently spoke with an old friend the gallery owner and collector of drawings from Paris. I argued that the master, if necessary, enough working day to make a large cycle of new songs. But the opponent objected, arguing that drawing a picture of strife and if the work will be done manually and within the figurative art with non-repeating subjects, more than five original compositions for the working day, even I will not be able to do. We agreed that if I have time to create a cycle for 8 hours and win in our dispute, the losing party buys all these drawings from me, and if I lose, then I give as a gift to the gallery of this collector one of my paintings, to which he has long been priced. Specified materials, equipment, the size of each pattern and timing... the debate was my pleasure to won and at the same time was born a new cycle of 12 figures called “Dancing Queen“.

About this artwork: Classification, Techniques & Styles

Lacquer

Paint made with a resin from tree sap, various shrubs or with lacquer paints based on thermosetting resins. The technique consists in superimposing layers of lacquers with a vigorous polishing between each layer. It is mostly smooth shiny, but can sometimes also be satin or very Matt.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Tempera

Paint based on an emulsion, greasy or lean with a pigment. Traditionally it is a painting using egg yolk, a natural emulsion, or whole egg as a medium to bind pigments.

Figurative and colorful painting having taken the liberty of including all forms of art without border of cultural genre and geographic origin, without hierarchy of values between high and subculture.
